What is Naturopathic Medicine?
My 4 year post-
graduate
naturopathic medical training is very similar to conventional medical
training, however our philosophies differ in that:
 I aim above all, to do no
harm.
I strive to find and treat the cause of your illness.
I treat the whole person.
I use the healing power of nature.
I teach my patients the tools of self-health care.
I am convinced that prevention is the best cure.
As
a family practice primary care physician, I am trained and licensed to
perform necessary physical exams, review your history and patient
records, and order appropriate labs to properly diagnose and treat your
concerns. I welcome working with your MD, and will not hesitate to
refer to specialists as needed.
My pharmacy includes
botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutritional supplements and tools for using
food as medicine. Our scope of practice in Hawaii has been updated to
include prescription drugs as of January 2010, and will also include minor
surgery and IV therapy in early 2010.
My techniques
include physical exam, naturopathic manipulation, craniosacral therapy,
muscle energy technique, hydrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, nutrition
evaluation and education, lifestyle counseling, and listening.
